Both my marriages are listed in the indexes. Just as well they are, too - I had to provide a copy of my FIRST marriage cert (even though I divorced, remarried and divorced again) in order to get a passport. OC |

Carole think whoever told you that is getting confused between divorce and annulment. If your marriage is annulled, then IN THEORY, the Registrar suppresses the information - but it is never wiped from the records, and in practice, they issue the certificates (by mistake) anyway. Once an entry has been made by a Registrar, it cannot be destroyed or altered in anyway, other than by a numbered amendment, which will lead to another entry. OC |

Please can anyone tell me,Is it true, when you get divorced your marriage is wiped from the records.i have checked my previous marriages and my currant spouses and they are not listed |
