There is a Newspaper Library at Colindale (part of the British Library. I don't know how much it costs to access newspapers there, but if you search for the library on the internet, you could find out more. This might help your search.

Sometimes there are several different local newspapers that report on events for the same town or village. Have you managed to track down all the possible papers, or have the library just looked at the most obvious one? Jay

Could it have been a trade or Group newspaper, rather than a 'news' paper?

Thank you Georgina I have asked the local history place where they keep the papers but they could not find it. I know it existed because I had read it many times. Margaret

Margaret have you tried the library local to where he died, they should have copies of local newspapers on microfilm. Georgina.
