My grt. grandfather was a musician in the army and married an Irish lass we believe. I cannot find this in the English GRO's (Check at LDS centre). 2 of their children were born in Ireland (if this is the right family) Where would I find these records? Under Irish records, army records or English records?? Hard family to find/trace as they moved to glasgow. Thanks in advance Derek

Derek You might want to try the National Archives website for Anchor Line as well. If you put 'Anchor Line' in like that you get a load of hits, maybe narrow it down by looking in the business section. Mhairi

If married whilst in the army then he may have met his Irish wife in Ireland while over there on duty. Try the Overseas Marriage section of'Find My Past' ex 1837 online. In FRC in London there is a special Army section for overseas marriages and births but these are now available online. I found mine in this section. Janet
