Hello! Very excited - I got three death certificates today! Have a question about one of the causes of death - 'softening of brain' - does anyone know whether this referred to anything in particular? It doesn't sound very nice whatever it was :o( Hope someone out there can help... Cheryl :o) |

Think it's having a haemorage or inflamation that could cause a stroke. |

Hi Cheryl A localised softening of the brain substance, due to hemorrhage or inflammation. Three varities distinguished by their colour representing different stages of the morbid process, are known respectively as red, yellow and white softening. All in all.... awful! Lady of the Manor |
