Hi, Help please. Once I have found a B, D or M in the register, how and where do I send off for a copy of that certificate? Kind regards, Lee

Or you could apply to the local register office......certs arrive quicker. Click on the district in the freebmd site to get info as to where office is. Good idea to ask for a photocopy of the original cert rather than a copy Good hunting Joan

Bear in mind if you apply to the local register office, that not all register offices will supply certs for family history purposes. (Offices in Central London don't, for instance). Also, even if they do supply certs in general, they may not be able to supply certs of church marriages unless you can tell them which church the wedding took place in. If you apply directly to the GRO you won't have these problems.
