<looking for resting place> do you mean last resting place, ie burial? If you want Islington burials since the 1850s when most London churchyards were full you may well find they were buried in Islington's cemetery at East Finchley. When I emailed Islington council re some of my ancestors I received an extremely helpful reply from a gentleman called Michael Dillon with confirmation of whether they were buried there, and the grave numbers. Mind you, I was able to give him names and approximate dates to search - I doubt whether they would be able to undertake a more general surname search so easily or willingly. Go to http://www.islington.gov.uk/directories then select Directory of Services and type cemetery in the search box to get the right contact details for Islington Cemetery and Crematorium |
