include northumberland in your search as some great yarmouth, norfolk entries have been credited to both locations, indeed some are transcribed solely to northumberland when they should in fact be to norfolk. for: ***** Barber, Birth/Christening, 1800 - 1840, England, British Isles Father: William Barber, Mother: Martha Bishop Exact Spelling: Off [refine search] Prepare selected records for download International Genealogical Index / British Isles - 10 Select records to download - (50 maximum) 1. Ed, - How odd. Have just had a look and, yes, some of my direct line appear to have performed the incredible feat of being born in two places at once! Fortunately they all seem to be in Gt. Yarmouth too, so I seem to have them all. However, I shall have another look for siblings not accounted for - you never know. Thanks for the tip-off. (Just shows you can't believe everything you find on one site. Need to confirm with other records. I always find three independent sources before I add to tree. Wish everyone else did. I have had people with half my family attached to their trees when none of them belonged at all!) Jay.

Yes, some batches of christenings were added to the IGI as Earsdon by North Shields, Northumberland instead of Great Yarmouth. I sent a message to FamilySearch ages ago asking about this, and got a reply saying they were gradually adding the entries to Great Yarmouth as well, but were not going to remove them from Earsdon by North Shields because 'ordination' may already have been carried out on some of the 'wrong' entries.
