Good evening all First please may I take the opportunity of wishing you all a very happy and healthy New Year. I know that you ore all probably fed up with me asking for help. But seriously I do try and research myself I'm just not very good at it at the moment.. I have recently had information that my father was married in Ireland before he came to England. My reasons for research in this marriage. I am quite desperate to find if there was any children born to this marriage. The marriage was between William Desmond Beatty to a Norah Gleeson in the Church Sacred Heart Donnybrook Dublin 4 on 26th June 1946 . Any idea you Wonderful people. Thanks Take care Lynne.

Hi Lynne Don't know much about searching in Ireland, so don't know what info they put on their certificates, but some general ideas. Got any idea how long the marriage lasted ? Did it end in divorce or death of wife ? Would her death certificate show any children (NSW ones do) ? Would divorce papers show any children ? Also in NSW, marriage certificates are anotated if the marriage ends in divorce, giving dates and ref no. (what a helpful lot they are) If you look on the genuki website (www(dot)genuki.org.uk) under Ireland I am sure there is lots of information on these sorts of topics. Or just google 'Ireland births, deaths, marriages' Diane Cole

Lynne if you google 'church of the sacred heart donnybrook dublin' there is quite a bit of info. If you can find a contact telephone number or address it might be worth asking if there is any records of children born to the above couple. Anything is worth trying when it comes to Irish records. Georgina.
