Help please what month was the UK 1891 cenus taken

I am trying to find Joesph William Armitage after the 1891 census I have a fbdm marriage for a Joseph William in June 1891 in Huddersfield as well as one in Halfiax -before I send for certificate need to know if this overlapped with census months Thanks JA |

The 1891 Census for England was taken on the night of 5 April 1891. So he would have been unmarried on census night. |

7th June 1841 30th March 1851 7th April 1861 2nd April 1871 3rd April 1881 5th April 1891 31 March 1901 June registration month would cover a marriage at the end of March as well as Apr/May/Jun so could have been married on the census. |

Fiona is mistaken, a marriage is registered on the day of the event, so will appear in that quarter, it is a birth registration that can overlap into the following quarter since 42 days are allowed for the registration. Deaths are usually registerd within a matter of a few days. Jennifer |

So if Joseph is shown as marrying in the June quarter, he could have married early April before census night. Gwyn |

Gwyneth, your are correct, but it is unlikely that they would have married in those few days, but possible I agree. |
