My 3 x great grandmother Elizabeth Pound on 1841 to 1861 census has Annuitant in Occupations, on 1861, she is described as Pensioner husband Captain RN. Believe husband to be Charles Pound. She lived in Hackney area, and was born in Clerkenwell. believe her name was Elizabeth Thompson before she married. Can anyone help me please with regard to looking up where Charles Pound died. Maureen Gardner. |

If he was a Captain RN you should be able to find his complete naval record in The National Archives. My Dad did this for the record of a great uncle of his (although later dates - he was in the navy 1870 to 1903) The record had all the ships he had served on and when he retired, what his pension was, and where and when he died. However I'm afraid it will mean a trip to TNA to search for it. Anne |

Thanks Anne I think there is a floppydisk at FH Supplies in Wiltshire, which I hope to go and get, as I live near, with letters for Pensions at this time. Just wondered if anyone had heard of Captain Charles Pound., Thank you once again Maureen |
