If this is a really obvious question then I'm really sorry but I'm kinda new and kinda stuck at all this!!! My paternal Grandfather, Denis Duggan, left the home when my father was only a few months old and came to England from Ireland in about 1954. The only other piece of information that we know about him is that he then died in Neath, Wales, in 1978. He was born in Kerry, Ireland, in 1928 and married my Grandmother, Teresa Carroll in Hendon, London, in 1950. How would I go about tracking down any other children that he had? Thanks for any tips people!!!

Kelly, If you haven't already done so, you should obtain a copy of his dead certificate. You may find that his death was reported by a wife or child. The details you'll need to obtain the certificate from the GRO are: Surname DUGGAN Forename Denis District Neath Volume 27 Page 1555 Year 1978 Qtr Jul-Sep I assume that you are confident that this is the correct man and not the DENNIS Duggan (also born 1928) who died in Liverpoool in Qtr 2 of 1978

Hi Kelly You can search birth indexes for free on Ancestry - all you need is some spare time and a lot of patience to trawl the years after the couple wed in 1950. Should be easy enough to spot any children born to them as the mother's maiden names are listed at that time - so any child with surname Duggan with mother's maiden name of Carroll would be one to investigate (i.e. order). Thank you both so much! I'm sure its the Denis (one n!) that is the man, its just that he left my nan so its children by any other women that he may have!! I think that I may just have a trawl through the BMD!! Thank you both so much and I'm ordering the death ceritifcate asap!
