Hi, i am trying to find info on my grandads dad, my grandad was called Nathan A Whittaker dob abt 1878, from Grimsby i think. I found a Thomas A Whittaker who i thought could be Nathan's dad but unsure and if so i can't find much info on him and of his parents/siblings and so on. The Thomas i found his surname was spelt without the h, which made me more uncertain. Thanks Denise.

I was doing lookups for someone on the Mummery name yesterday........can't remember who or even which website. They all started off in Kent and were mariners, wandered off up the East Coast, Sheerness then Harwich came into it........

Hi Denise, 1841 image says 'Island of Cauvey in the parish of Benfleet'. It also states the name of the ship and that they are on coastguard service. Not too sure about the name of the ship but if you would like the image pm me your e-mail and I'll send it to you. There are also two other children with them that have not been transcribed with the family, George 10 and John 9. Fiona.
