The International Genealogical Index is provided by the Church of The Latter Day Saints (Mormons). As part of the mormon faith, they have to research at least four generations of ancesters. Part of the findings are online, some are submitted, some transcribed. You can find the site here. http://www.familysearch.org/ Have a look at the help pages, they are very useful. Either that or some Parish records are online, but it may be a case of visiting the Records Office for the county concerned. Good luck Keith |

Could you give some details? I assume you have found them on a census? Does this person get married after 1837? In which case you could probably buy their marriage certificate for details of their father. |
