Could someone please look at the scan for me to determine if the grandson’s name is Appleby. It’s what it looks like but I can’t find his birth entry. 1901 Census RG13. piece: 4749. Folio:14. Page:19. 7 Ivy Square, Heworth. Andrew Johnson age 62 c1839 born Scotland. Cartman, chemical works Mary Johnson age 63 c 1838 born Scotland Andrew Johnson age 26 born Felling, Durham, brick layers labourer ?Appleby Johnson, grandson age 7 born Newcastle upon Tyne (North) Parish: Hewing. Felling, Durham Reg District: Gateshead. Many thanks, jennifer

The only Appleby birth reg in Newcastle1893/4 Appleby Kirkley 1893 Jul-Aug-Sep Newcastle Upon Tyne Northumberland It is not impossible that he is one and the same.

Hi Jennifer On ancestry you can enter very few details to get a result. EG appleby 1993/1994 northumberland will bring up two in 1901 and five births. Only one in Newcastle. Appleby Kirkley is not in the deaths or 1901 Jim
