Hi, Am trying to find a Thomas Jones born about 1836, he appears out of nowhere in 1860 at his marriage to Isabella Bennett in South Sheilds,he is down as a mariner, on the marriage certificate his father is given as William Jones a ropemaker, the newlyweds are both on the 1861 census living in South Shields and his birthplace is given as Shadwell middlesex. However neither myself nor my husband can find any mention of Thomas before his marriage - can anyone help please? Helen. |

Bernice, Thank you sooo much!! I have spent the evening chasing everyone up and that is the family. You have no idea how long we have been trying to find them!! The only problem now is a trip down to London to search parish records and Merchant Navy stuff at Kew ... oh the hardship! Once again thank you so much. Helen. |
