Can anyone tell me if I can get information regarding what family members were in the workhouse at the same time. I understand the male and females were parted.

The 1881 census has all workhouse inmates recorded who were there on census night in 1881. Apart from that, I'd check the records office for the relevant area - even the dates of admission would be recorded, and date of death (if they died there.)

If you can't get to the relevant records office, I understand you can pay them to research for you. They charge by the hour (Ive paid £20, but offices vary), and usually pack in as much research as they can for the hours work.
