Can anyone tell me if I can get information regarding what family members were in the workhouse at the same time. I understand the male and females were parted. |

The 1881 census has all workhouse inmates recorded who were there on census night in 1881. Apart from that, I'd check the records office for the relevant area - even the dates of admission would be recorded, and date of death (if they died there.) |

Thank you for your advice, I have arelative born in the Chelsea workhouse in 1862 so unfortunately the cencus has been no help to me. |

If you can't get to the relevant records office, I understand you can pay them to research for you. They charge by the hour (Ive paid £20, but offices vary), and usually pack in as much research as they can for the hours work. |
