These look like the right ones but the birthplaces are wrong. They're living as boarders in New Basford, Nottingham. Arthur Hooton, widower, age 40, a Mechanic Weighing machines, born Sheffield, Yorkshire. Alice Hooton, single, age 14, Hosiery Machinist, born Lincoln, Lincolnshire. |

I know im a pain but could ya look one more up for me on the 1901 census ive tried and tried but so far have hit a brick wall with my great grandad (alice's husband) James Webb b 1860 Weybridge Surrey. I have him on the 1861 census as being 4 months old with his parents and siblings, I lose him then I think I find him again at 10 years being at boarding school (might not be him tho) and then nothing at all. He went on to become an Electrical Engineer. His father was William Webb and he was a civil engineer. Luv Angie xxxx |

I've been searching, Angie, but no luck at all. I noticed on the 1861 census that James is the only one with birthplace recorded. His parents and siblings just say British Subject which sounds as if they were born out of the country and maybe they went back after James' birth. But where? Margaret |
