I hope this finds its 'family', I hate to think of precious family heirlooms like this being sold on e-bay!!! |

this only has 4 hours to go looks lovely;; Very large leather bound bible (approx. 4.5kg, 400mm x 240mm x 100mm) with 40+ full plate illustrations, including plates for Revelations and the Apocrypha, double column text with notes. Inscription on rear inside cover:- William Palmer, His Book, Clipstone, Northamptonshire, 1812. Braybrook 1816. Inscription at beginning of New Testament (on reverse of illustration, top half removed):- the children of G and E Palmer, John Henery Palmer was born the 11 of January 1861, William Palmer was born 21 of May 1863, George Palmer was born 14 July 1866, Anne Palmer was born May 12 1869, Kate Palmer was born March 2 1874, George Palmer was born July 11 1871. A similar inscription is on the reverse of an illustrated plate in Revelation. Tried to search site but daft thing doesnt like to take to long times out on me;; Babs |
