emmigration from england to australia c1880ish

hi does anyone know if there are any records for people going to australia about 1880. i have a family i can't find in 1881 census, 3 of the children are living with their grandmother. the parents and 2 other children are missing. in 1891 they are all together again but, also have a son born c1889 in australia. any help is much appreciated. thanks edith

Have a look at the Passenger Lists thread on the Records Office board. Do you know which part of Australia they went to? What was the name of the son born there, and his parents' names?

his name was his name was herbert osborne b 1889 according to 1891 census. parents herbert and isabella osborne.

No birth of a Herbert Osborne, and no births to Isabella and Herbert Osborne, in NSW between 1881 and 1891.

Can't see anything in Victoria or Western Australia either. Those are the only three States with BMDs online, but if you have a look on the Records Office board, there are a couple of threads offering look-ups in other Australian states.
