I'm afraid that the favour I am going to ask for is too much to expect but as I live in Australia what I would love for someone to do would be impossible at the moment for me. If some kind person lives in Chingford would it be possible for you to take a photo of a house in Willow Street. The house is 38 Willow Street and it was the home of my great aunt in 1923. Of course if there is no house there or it is now a modern house then that's my bad luck. I would very much appreciate this favour if it at all possible as there are no longer any relatives in the area. Susan

Susan, I don't live anywhere near there, but I took a photo of a house for a lady in Australia earlier this year. I think I got just as much pleasure from taking it and sending it to her as she did in receiving it! Hopefully someone will live close enough to do it. It took me five minutes on the way to work one morning. Good Luck! Mandy

Nudged again. I took photos in Scotland for faraway searcher, and also really enjoyed doing that. Maybe GR should have a messageboard with PLACE links rather than name links so we could pick up a local connection and help, out of interest. Maybe it exists and I haven't stumbled across it yet! LOL

Susan, have you tried the rootschat site? You can find the board relevant to the area you're searching and post there. I've found the people on the Derbyshire board most helpful...but no real experience with the other boards. Guys, let's keep this thread nudged for Susan...she's probably in bed!

I can do that for you, once the weather improves. It's rather wet and windy in Chingford at the moment.

Sorry, guys!!! Thank you so much for keeping this nudged, I was in bed and then my ISP went down and I couldn't connect to the internet on my computer. Andrew, I have PM'd you. Thank you so much. Susan

I was the person, Mandy took the photo for. It was such a thrill to see the house where my grandfather lived in 1881. Thank you again Mandy Sylvia
