Hello Gail, The Stoke entry certainly seems a possibility, especially if the ages are rounded down. He should be 23, which would fit with the record. I see that both he and Elizabeth are born out of county. His second wife Mary Ann is with her mother and daughter in Acton Trussell (a few miles from Stafford) in 1851, while Henry is listed in the town itself. I think Mary Ann died in the 2nd quarter of 1851, so he would still be married when the census was taken. Hello Keith, I have seen the register for the marriage to Mary Anne Adams. His residence was Stafford and hers was Stone. Thank you so much for your time and effort. Hilary |

Can anyome help to locate Henry in 1841. He was born/baptised in Hampstead in 1817 to Henry(victualler) and Maria nee Dawson. In 1841, his motherMaria(transcribed as Wills) was in Abbots Bromley in Staffs, no sign of Henry Senior. In 1844, Henry junior, a chemist, became a partner with his uncle in a shop in Stafford. He was apparently a Londoner, widowed, no children. He married in Fulford Staffs in 1846, and is in Stafford in 1851. By 1861 he is in Abbots Bromley with a third wife. I cannot locate him or his first wife in 1841 and would be glad of some help from the experts on this board please. Thank you. Hilary |
