Oh Elaine, you are a STAR!! I can't quite understand how I missed them when I was trawling the Chard census under 'D' but in my defence, I haven't been feeling 100% well the last few days! The two Lydias are also both Litishias as well! Thanks Elaine, you've really made my day, Mandy :) PS: Just seen your reply Keith - you too are a STAR! Thank you. |

I’m desperately trying to find my Dunn family on the 1861 census. I’ve got them on the 1841 and 1851 (listed below) and William is dead by the 1871. A contact (who has now vanished from my contact list!) who gave me quite a bit of info states that they had moved from Barnstaple (Devon) and were on the 1861 census for Chard (Somerset) without the older children. I’ve searched using just first names and searched under every variation of ‘Dunn’ that I can think of. I even trawled through all the ‘D’s for the whole of Chard but still no luck. I’ve found Lydia junior’s birth registered as Letitia, so this is a possible alternative for both mother and daughter. Thank you to any kind and clever person who can find any of them! Mandy :) This is them on the 1851: Name: William Dunn Age: 33 Estimated birth year: abt 1818 Relation: Head Spouse's name: Lydia Gender: Male Where born: Collumpton, Devon, England Civil parish: Barnstaple Ecclesiastical parish: St Mary Magdalene Town: Barnstaple County/Island: Devon Country: England Registration district: Barnstaple Sub-registration district: Barnstaple ED, institution, or vessel: 3g Neighbors: View others on page Household schedule number: 8 Household Members: Name Age Henry Dunn 2 John Dunn 14 Lydia Dunn 33 Lydia Dunn 4 Maria Dunn 7 Mary Ann Dunn 5 Mo Thomas Dunn 5 William Dunn 33 William Dunn 11 |
