Hi Just in case anybody interested, Scotlands People have just announced that OPR birth and marriage images are goingto be available online to view from the end of January. Will help me a lot and will be a lot cheaper than sending away for them. Julie |

Hi I am hoping it is going to £1 the same as the others. I have not viewed any of these before as I think that sending away is a little expensive. Julie |

excellent...puts my thread on the records board out of business though. I should be happy i suppose, leaves me more time to look at different things. Mhairi |

Mhairi, where did you get your discs? I need loads looked up - as well as my tree and my husband's one I've been trying to create a database of 2 particular named branches. There really are too many to impose with requests especially as every time I get an answer to one question it usually creates another couple of questions!!! |

Julie I'm the same as you, mainly scottish with the odd English man (or more commanly, woman) thrown in. Only on my maternal grans side though for some strange reason. Christine I dont have any disks (wish i did), i go to the central library in Edinburgh most weeks, usually on the way home from Uni on a friday adnd look them up on mirco fiche. If you could give me exact dates, or maybe approximate dates - between two/three years - and parishes i could look some up for you. I wont be there till after christmas (considering its on monday and i'm pretty sure the library is closed tomorrow) and maybe the new year. I can search Ayrshire; Caithness; Clackmannanshire; Dumfries and Galloway; East Lothian; Edinburgh; Fife; Inverness-shire; Kinross; Mid Lothian; Moray; Nairn; Orkney; Ross and Cromarty; Scottish Borders; Shetland; Stirlingshire; Sutherland; West Lothian. Let me know, pm or a reply to my thread on records would probably be best - same applies to anyone else, quite happy to help. Mhairi |
