Geraldine - re this one 'the silver one is again king george v head on one side the other has a man on horse back the horse is treading on something and you can see a skull and crossbow under foot. dates 1914-1918 ' - I think this might be the British War Medal which was awarded at the end of WW1. There is a useful website that might help you identify some of the others - have a look on here: www.hallofmedals(.)co(.)uk (remove the brackets) At the top of the page you will see some blue tabs - click on the one that says British and use the scroll bar on the left hand side to click on various dates to see the medals. Hover your mouse over a medal and it shows the reverse picture. Hope you find it useful. Athena

Dear Geraldine, If you have not already done so search Google, Images for HMS Ameer for many wonderful pictures of this Aircraft carrier. (Do the same for any other ships your relative may have served on) If this is the correct Ameer it was launched on 18th October 1942, originally as USS BAFFINS. Commissioned into RN service 28th June 1943, and served in The Pacific later in the war. Hope this helps, Ray
