Hello, I have recieved a marriage cert of my great grandfather Joseph Quinn and Rose Ann Murphy that married in 1933 in Liverpool. From wot i can make out of his occupation, it says something like 'ship stores carter'??....this is also stated in his father michael quinn's occupation (deceased at the time).....i know that joseph was in the second world war and was a merchant sailor until he died at sea in 1940.....would this have anything to do with the job? Also, the father of rose had the occupation of 'old bake hill,labourer........or........oil cake hill, labourer'....im so puzzled in wot they might be...does any1 have an inkling of an idea? regards sophie |
