Thanks Tracy and Janet. I don't know what I did by just copying and pasting to send all my docs into revealed format... I'll blame Ancestry.... Night night. Liz

Open Word & click on view Click on normal - you may be on outline if you are getting all those marks. (I always work in print view) Jay.

Sounds like you've got paragraph spacings switched on. On Word, go to the Tools menu. Click Options Under Formatting Marks, make sure none of the boxes are ticked.

Michelle - I bravely went where technophobes fear to go... Found 'reveal formatting' option and unticked and all the unwanted have gone... Thanks. think got sorted. Liz

Hi Michelle I have windows XP. Went into docs, then view but there wasn't an option of show. Went through them all but nothing like it.... Any suggestions? Liz

Liz - Go to view and see what items in the menu are ticked, I have a different programme but in the menu there is one called 'show' and if that has a tick beside it then all the dots between words and paragraph symbols are there, once unticked the symbols disappear - Michelle

Have been copying/pasing from Ancestry BMD etc into word docs for ages. This last time, did so and it affected everything in my documents. They have all got dots between words and paragraph signs etc. All the deletion of rows and cells and unneeded bits and pieces have been restored to the unaltered state - on every document. Did I press something...or I have picked up something contagious? As you can see I am only computer literate in certain areas. Want to see Xmas Day in workhouse to a GR member but can't until this sorted...anyone....help!! Liz
