When you tell the printer to print the information is stored in the cache or the computers onboard memory until it's actually printed, sometimes even after a reboot. The printer will not print another document until it's printed the first one. The only way to stop this is to double click on the printer icon on your task bar, right click on the document name that it's trying to print and select, Cancel. Wait for it to disappear from the menu then you know it's gone. Ron www*genealogyprinters*com

Google the manufacturer's webiste.....once at the site enter your printer's model number.....there more than likely are updates or drivers available for your printer which can be downloaded for free right from the site. Judy

I have an HP PSC 1410 - it scans, photocopies and prints - I think Amazon have them for about £40 at the moment. The 1610 I think it is, also takes digitial photo things and prints them.

Ours used to do that! We have the Epson Stylus 850 and it often did that. It failed to print, so you'd tell it to again, then you shut it down, rebooted and a box popped up - 'You have 2 documents waiting to print, click OK or Cancel' and you ended up with two prints. It also likes to make noise after you switch it on (we think it's head cleaning itself) and you can't print till five minutes later when it stops. Mad things indeed. Somebody told me the best thing you can do is shut down and restart, because then it will recognise anything in the printer queue and print them.

Epsom Color 680... had it for 4 years; no problem. But now - phew! It's had a real funny turn; A few days ago I tried to print out some information; clicked on 'print'.... nothing. Tried again, and again then again... nothing. Everything is connected as it should be; everything suggested has been tried... nothing! Shut everything down in disgust. Booted up the following day and pressed the start button on the printer and it burst into life on its own... prints galore. I'm now calling for a printout knowing that the only way it will copy is after I've shut down and booted up again. And I also get duplicate printouts. How's that for trouble? Stop laughing, help me!
