But remember that this facility only hides people in your tree - they will still appear in the name lists. Best option is to change the names in your tree to Living Female etc. OC

Brilliant! Thanks Gordon. That's made it clear now

Yes. I'll give you an example: My Grandfather was born in 1906 and died in 1976; his sister was born in 1904, but I haven't got a date of death for her. When I view my tree, I see them both. If someone I open my tree to views them, they will see the details for my Grandfather, but his sister will appear as 'Living Relative', with no other details. Gordon

Thanks Gordon! Here's another question for you as I'm not sure if I've got my head round that one! Say, for my Grandad, he was born 1917 and I have his death date of 2005 entered on my tree. Will he show on my tree or not?

The Hide Living People option hides people born within the last 120 years with no death date recorded, except the tree owner. It will not hide people without a date of birth, so if you have a living relative (say, an in-law) whose date of birth you do not know, remember to guess at an approximate date. Gordon

Will keep any eye on this one as I have been wondering the same. Think I read somewhere on the site that the age is 120 !!! Maureen

Just wondering what criterea the new Hide Living People facility uses. Does it take those whom you haven't put a death date for and hide them? Or does it calculate their age and decide which could possibly still be alive? I want to upload my gedcom but obviously there are a few people I don't want on the site. Or is there a way of editing your gedcom on FTM before you upload it? Thanks. Jeanette x
