Please help. I've ordered many certificates before and have often asked for reference checks. Tonight I seem unable to fill in this simple form. I'm trying to order a birth certificate with a reference check on the father's name. I am filling in names, GRO refs. and fathers name and then clicking on the reference check button at the bottom of the page. Father's names come up on this new page but when I click Submit the final details tell me No. of Checks 0 . Why is this. I know it has to be something very simple. Jo

Don't fill in the father's name on the first part of the form. Wait until AFTER you have clicked on 'reference checks' to add the father's name. That way it should come up as a reference check at the end. Kath. x

Hi Jo, That's the way I've always ordered with a reference check, but I've just tried it now (as far as giving all the information but without actually ordering) and it is coming up with 0 reference checks when I put one in, so I think it must be a glitch with their site. Kath. x

I'm so glad it's not just me Kath... you've made me feel better! Do you think if I send the form as it stands I will still get a part refund if it's the wrong person? Maybe I should just give it a go. Jo

When I've done one of those reference checks that come at the end of the form filling, it never shows up on the final order. I think its only the ones you pay for (more complicated) that show up then. I know it still works, even when it doesn't show on the order because I had one that they didn't send - got an email to say the father's name was not .... and they were refunding the £4. Don't worry! Well, it's on it's way now so we will see! I thought I had seen a figure 1 before on the final order under Ref. Check but the poor old memory isn't what it used to be. Despatch date is 20 Dec - if it arrives before Christmas it will be a great present to myself. Jo
