Any clues to what a Hawker Chime did ? This is from a Scottish Census. Anthea

A Chime? At a wild guess I suppose he could be selling bells of some sort - but strange?? Usually you have the word Hawker (a street seller) followed by the goods he sells. e.g. Hawker fish, hawker oranges

Perfect! The point being that if you ask another query in future, say on a look up, then people will want to see how much info you already have and add to that.
