Hi Sophie Renal Calculus is kidney stones. I didn't think people died from that, maybe things have progressed since then. Beverley

Thanks Georgina The cause of death was renal calculus which sounds as though it is kidney related, but I will check on the ENT hospital. Thanks for the help

Sophie what was his cause of death? It may have been a private hospital during the war but it's not very far from the old Ear,Nose & Throat Hospital in Birmingham, you would probably find the info you need at Birmingham Central Library. Georgina.

My gt grandfather's death certificate states that he died on 19/4/1939 at a private hospital at 70 Newhall St, Birmingham. It doesn't give the name of the hospital. How can I find that out? And would I be able to get his medical records? Thanks Sophie
