Where have the middle names gone?

Has anyone noticed that when you type in eg. Percy Smith into the search engine at the top, it no longer shows you middle names? I'm looking for a Percy Smith with the very distinctive middle name of Gwynne or Gwynn but now when I search, it doesn't tell me if the Percy Smiths I'm going through have middle names. I don't understand why they changed it - you used to be able to see middle names and it was very helpful in eliminating the wrong matches. Now it's confusing.

Kate I know what you mean i had a vey unpleasant pm off someone cos he thought my Aunt and his Wife were the same person, but if you click next to name where it says send message it will show you the full name. Julie

Thanks. I will try that. Don't know why they had to go and change it - looking for relations with an name like Smith is bad enough as it is. I already found someone with exactly the same name as one of my relatives, born in the right place, and it wasn't even the right one. This just makes it harder. I can imagine people related to Smiths and Jones etc would get to the point where they wouldn't even bother to look for them.

Brilliant Julie! You have solved one of my problems for me. A couple of my lines have individuals with boring, common first and surnames but red-hot middle names. I had given up using the site search when the crucial middle names were dropped from the results, but you have now provided a glimmer of hope!
