Check this website. It gives details of Goddard's Plate Powder, so I suppose they employed people to wrap it (apparently it was a cleaner for silver plate cutlery which was strong enough to clean off tarnish without damaging the very thin layer of silver plate):- http://www.rpsgb.org.uk/informationresources/museum/exhibitions/themotherofinvention/godd.html Kath. x

Anyone have a clue what a 'Plate Powder Wrapper' did? I've checked http://rmhh(.)co(.)uk/occup/p(.)html whaich has helped me out before, but this one is not there. Any thoughts? Rob
