The answer lies in the 1861 Census Entry for the Family.Considering that Christopher is listed as Christopher W Stoll in 1891,I would contend that he is the W Charles Stoll aged 6 in 1861,there was another sibling named Charles listed.Would they really have named two sons Charles? I believe Christopher and William are one and the same. The age is right for both. He's William, age 17 in 71 and Christopher age 27 in 81. Margaret

hi with the help of some wonderful people on here i was able to trace the stoll family but have found a problem one - theres always one isnt there !! christopher stoll born c 1854 liverpool lancashire parents frederick william stoll and sarah christey born c1820 london middlesex i have frederick and sarah on the 1871/61 census with their other chldren living in toxteth park liverpool but with no mention of a christopher. frederick died 1870 and on the 71 census sarah is head of the household on the 1881 census sarah is living with her son christopher but i have never heard or seen of him before then any help with this puzzle would be great thanks love linda x PS just going to go and sort out dinner and washing etc.. will be back later
