I'm finding it impossible to find my Great Uncle Cormack Holohan on the 1901 census. I know of course it's possible he's not on there, but if anyone can find him be much obliged. He was born 1867 Dundee, Moved to Poplar, London around 1885 and died 1947 in Leicester, so is probably if on there, in one of the latter two areas. Sometimes his name is spelt cormac (k), cormic (k) etc. |

Thanks Reggie. I would point out though Margaret his mother, had died by 1901, Patrick I've found living alone with his wife Elizabeth in Stepney. Also Cormacs middle name was Stephen, so the R, is a mistranscription by ancestry from the original. I think he may have managed to miss or avoid the 1901 census, as just canot find him, would be very happy if someone else manages to! |

Have you checked Scotland 1901? What was his occupation? Could it have taken him abroad? Reg |

I have yes, and couldn't find him there either. He was just a general labourer as far as I know, so though not impossible he was abroad perhaps unlikely. I've got a feeling he probably is on the 1901 census, Scotland or England somewhere, but probably with his name ridiculously mistranscribed. |
