I sent off a postal application yesterday for an overseas event at the GRO, but I've since realised that I haven't read the price list correctly, and that the £10 I sent them is the online price, not the postal/telephone/fax price, which should have been £11.50 for a search without a gro reference number. I never even knew there were different prices depending on how you ordered! There's not much I can do about it now. It's an honest mistake, so does anybody know whether they'll process my application with what I've sent, or write back and ask me for the extra £1.50. This kind of mistake must happen quite a lot with people not reading the web-page correctly (the price isn't on the downloadable form), so I was just wondering what the procedure would be, and whether I would need to re-apply. For the sake of £1.50 it wouldn't seem to be worth their time, so if anyone has any experiences, I wouldn't mind some advice on the subject. Next time I'll know better, but what happens this time? they will probably return the chq to you quoting the correct price. Happened to my SIL when she ordered by phone but misunderstood the prices quoted
