If you know where he was living before he was in prison then you could try the local Records Office to ask if they know about newspaper reports and prison records. Gloucestershire Records Office sent me my 3x great grandfather's prison record and (because he'd been from Somerset) his newspaper reports were in the big library in Taunton. Good luck with yours....they make fascinating reading with lots of information. Sue |

Try the national archives website or a2a website. Put his name in the search box and see what results you get under 'law and order' or 'petty sessions'. Glen |

Can anyone help please, my great grand uncle was a convict in Wormwood Scrubs Prison on the 1881 census, is there any way I can find details about his conviction and the length of his prison term. Thank you Jacqueline |
