I have a FRANCIS SLEETH born c1839, I have his marriage cert and father is Francis Sleeth..... but the only birth I can find that is anything like it in the right place of BATTERSEA is FRANCIS SLEATH..... would you agree that this is possibly the right cert to order?

Definitely sounds like a possibility to me. My surname has changed usually one letter at a time through the years. HTH Naomi x

I would order it, there are worse mis transcriptions than that, it is pretty close!!!

Hi Diana, The IGI seems to agree and it's an extracted record: FRANCIS SLEATH Male Event(s): Birth: 02 FEB 1838 Christening: 04 MAR 1838 Saint Mary, Battersea, London, England Parents: Father: FRANCIS SLEATH Mother: ELIZABETH Update: *ooops* just realised you probably knew that already. Sorry !!!
