I decided to take a break from my tree and have a go at sorting hubbies attempt at his.. but its a right mess and i feel i am banging my head against a brick wall. I thought i better start at the beginning and find his Granfather.. pretty simple i thought.. but after trawling Ancestry for hours i cannot even get that far!. I am looking William Calcroft b1905 newark Notts. the problem is.. the surname keeps getting mistranscribed, to Calcraft then changing back to calcroft.. i have even had no luck tracing Williams wife, Florence bradshaw, b1904 Notts... if i can just get something concrete i can move on... and to top it all Hubbies mum is proving elusive.. plus the fact she cant remember any of her relatives birth details ( aunties uncles grandparents etc).. oh dear.. can anyone just give me a leg up so i can plough forward on this?
