Large Leather bound family bible dated 1804 with family records. Printed & sold by Knott & Lloyd of Birmingham, also sold by L.B.SEELEY & VERNON & HOOD, London. Brown leather boards, with marbled endpages. The spine cover is off but present. The front cover board has nearly parted company with the book. Minor scattered foxing Internally This book is in good condition many illustrated plates by Hancock. A Rare Publisher !!! Measures approx. 10 inches x 8¾ inches x 4 inches in depth, a Very Heavy and very rare Book !!! FAMILY HISTORY The inscriptions read:- Deaths Continued: Mrs Elizabeth Marsden,(mother of Mrs R S Newman) Died at her daughters residence on the 13th day of May 1841. Aged 68 years and 10 months Charles Newman eldest son of Richard Searle and Alice Newman died at the residence of his parents (No.60 Wildman Street,Kingston,Jamaica) On Sunday the 15th day of December 1844 aged 27 years and 6 months. Richard Newman, Second Son (as above) died at the residence of his parents. No.60 Wildman Street,Kingston,Jamaica on Monday the 16th March 1846 aged 26 years three months and 2 days, leaving his Widow but no children. Mary Helen Newman relict of Richard Newman died in Falmouth Jamaica the 18th October 1850. Anne Newman (Wife of James Newman) Died in New Orleans (USA) on the 2nd March 1856. James Newman (3rd Son of Rd & Alice Newman) Died in New Orleans on the 30th April 1856. MARRIAGES: Richard Newman second son of R S Newman and Alice his Wife married at the Cathedral Church Spanish Town by the Reverend Mr Berrowback ? Rector on the 7th September 1841 to Mary Helen Campbell, Eldest Daughter of the late Dr Hemming ? Of the parish of Hanover Jamaica. Alice Newman Second daughter at New Orleans U.S.A. by the Reverend Mr Crane to George Wigg Esq. Of Liverpool on the 11th May 1850. Eliza Newman Eldest Daughter at New Orleans USA by the Reverend Mr Goodrich on the 25th May 1850 to Alfred Beasley Esq. Of Liverpool. James Newman married by the Reverend Mr Geddings Quincy Minor ? To Miss Anne Kenning ? Daughter of the late W.Kenning? Of the parish of Hanover Jamaica W.I. (West Indies) on the 1st july 1851. W.J.U.Newman Married by the reverend Mr Goodriche, New Orleans to Miss Mary Kirk on the 15th May 1856. BIRTHS OF THE GRANDCHILDREN OF RD & ALICE NEWMAN. Frederick Beasley son of Alfred and Eliza Beasley Born in Quincy Minors ? USA on 4th March 1851. Ella or Ellen Newman Daughter of James & Anne Newman Born in New Orleans USA on the 4th day of June 1852. Alice Maria Beasley daughter of Alfred and Eliza Beasley Born in New York USA on the ? Day of October 1852. Alfred Beasley son of Alfred and Eliza Beasley Born in Liverpool on the 7th day of May 1854 Florence Wigg daughter of George & Alice Wigg Born in New Orleans on the 25th November 1854 Isabelle Beasley daughter of Alfred and Eliza Beasley Born in Liverpool on the 5th April 1856. BIRTHS OF THE CHILDREN OF GEORGE & ALICE WIGG Florence Mary born in New Orleans USA on the 23rd November 1854. Alice Edith born at Napier Villa, Seaforth, Near Liverpool on the 18th November 1857. George Clayton born in New Orleans USA on the 27th September 1860 Charles Sydney born at Waterloo near Liverpool on the 24th February 1862 William Walter born at Waterloo near Liverpool on the 4th July 1863 Gertrude Eliza born at Thornton Heath Surrey near London on the 15th December 1865
