Well one of my 'humble rellies' appeared to be Norfolk born and just moved across to Lincoln to live out his days. Certs said he was a farmer. I fell upon a reference in a trade directory to his name and a wardrobe business. His name is pretty unique and the address was also in the 1881 census. That led to a shock discovery of a court case (selling furniture that he didn't own). Try the a2a websire and put the names of some rellies in the search, you never quite know what might turn up. I have a few wives from long gone marriages who were witnesses at court cases, things like them having washing stolen or watches and similiar, nothing really exciting but worth a look just to be nosey. Just google 'a2a' Glen

Thanks Glen, I think I am just a little impatient when it comes to wanting information lol! now now now! Been looking up the usual family history forums etc, it is quite hard to find things usually that are just humble relations, information on lords and ladies, kings nad queens are so much easier, i am going to document myself as much as possible lol! so that my family can find ME easily!!! Via the internet you are limited. Certs can give you dates and addresses which you can use to narrow down things like newspaper articles, (family announcements and obituary column etc) but you need to access those via the library/archives office (some have a research service at a reasonable price) or engage a helpful soul to look them up on your behalf. The same with electoral rolls but bear in mibd they won't show the full household, only those who are resident and of voting age. Trade directories often have residential listings but again you are better with an address beforehand to narrow the searches, there are some directories online at the Historical Directories website.
