My screen has stopped jumping!

It was jumping like crazy last night and this morning because of the Take That advert. I've just updated my Windows XP Defender program to the new version and when I went back to the GR site have noticed the top advert has now disappeared altogether. In fact the site is running a whole lot quicker for me. Have GR removed the top advert or has Windows Defender blocked it?

The top ad has changed to a BHF one. Reg

Thanks Reg, As I no longer have a top advert it looks like Windows Defender has done the trick. (whoopie). What a difference a stable screen makes!

Hi Tracey, its not Windows defender, its the site, they have removed the advert completely. This is the response to my complaint last night:- I am sorry that you have felt the need to complain to Genes Reunited. I have taken on board your comments and have passed them on to my manager who will raise this issue with our advertising agency. Thanks for your feedback. Best regards, Lisa The Genes Support Team

Thanks Keith You got the same reply as I did. So, far from the new improved Defender being my saviour, it looks like GR may simply be blocking the ads for those of us who complain direct. Which means, the ads will be unleashed again once GR think they have solved the problem.

I suspect you are right Tracey, lets hope they sort it before putting them on again, or are we going to have another debacle as before.

Hi Judith, cannot be too difficult just to pull the ad off whilst they work out what the problen is.

I had a reply last night saying that the problem had been resolved and it should now be working properly if I wanted to check the site again... but it was still jumping all over the place! I checked again early this morning - still jumping - so I emailed them again saying that it definitely hadn't been resolved and that it seemed to happen when the advert was changing and loading (which a few people have already mentioned). Hopefully the adverts will stay away and we can all read threads in peace now, without getting headaches! Cheryl
