Hi, thanks for your replies. received m/c today, residence at the time of marriage was given as St Mark, Old Street, maybe they sought sanctuary!! they were married by banns. do you think it would be an idea to ask for a 1871 lookup, as I have both the fathers names, Charles White - brushmaker and Georges Wheeler - butcher

If they were 21 or over, I would try 1851. Often easier to track them as children, rather than when they are working and living away from the parental home. jay

probably need their b places and fathers names. do you have marriage cert?

If they were married by banns, they would only need to be resident in the parish for a short time before the marriage - possibly over the 3 week period the banns were read. Jay

Hi, I have Henry White and Emily Wheeler who married in March 1872, at 'the Parish Church' Parish of St Mark Old Street, Middsx'. Both of their addresses are given at time of marriage as St Mark, Old Street, any ideas how I can find their proper address so that I can search them on the 1871 census, before their marriage?
