I just thought you might like to know that you can search the Cornish census online. For instance, I have just been looking for John Mildren in 1841 http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb(.)com/~kayhin/40133b.html |

Hi Barry Just wondering if that is the mother - Jane (either Hicks or Daniel) marrying Sampson Daniel - just might possibly account for the different names John used, needs a lot more research obviously - I am pleased to have confused - hope it has helped a bit as well.LOL Gail. |

Is this is anything to do with it - Mother (only possibly) Jane Daniel 1854 Apr-May-Jun St Austell Cornwall Sampson Daniel 1854 Apr-May-Jun St Austell Cornwall Jane Hicks 1854 Apr-May-Jun St Austell Cornwall John Minear 1854 Apr-May-Jun St Austell Cornwall This marriage is after John's birth - so was he a Mildren and his mother, maybe widowed and remarried. Hence John called himself a mix of the two - dependent on who was visiting at the time - I know I am making it up as I go along............. But there are a mix of names in this family........ Gail. |

Family History Online is a good source of Cornish genealogy. this is the link www.familyhistoryonline.net If it doesn't work just google it. It's pay as you go (£5 minimum I think) but you get a lot of looks for your money. maggie |

Hi On FreeBMD I could find this :- Sep 1866 John G Mildren md Grace Pengelly (?) Helston 5c 313 Jun 1848 John Mildren m Grace Wills Redruth 9 279 Dec 1865 John Mildern/Milden m Grace Bennett St Austell 5c 224 Also, some births - Jane Mildren b Mar 1866 St Austell 5c 149 Anna Maria Mildren b dec 1867 St Austell 5c 126 Rosina Mildren b Dec 1870 Tavistock 5b 344 I did have a look on freecen to see if they were on the census but couldn't find them on there.. As for sites in Cornwall, can't think of any that would be any more help in this situation than the main sites. Cornwall does have some online parish clerks though, if you knew which parish they got married in? Hopefully someone on here can be of more help than I... Good luck in your search Laura x |
