Deleting contact names

It's worse than that - I have only six pages of contacts and deided to get rid of some. I painstakingly opened, read, and deleted about 15 messages. Funny, thought I, I still have six pages. Did a few more, then atarted to look at the dates. As fast as I was deleting them, even older contacts were coming up - I now have them back to just after I joined three years ago! OC

Oh no!!! I'll still be sitting here at Christmas deleting old contacts. I blame myself for not doing it as I go along. You would think you would be able to select a number from a page. Too simple.......!

Please can anyone tell me if there is a simple way of deleting contact names that are longer required. I have 20 pages of contacts and it is becoming unmanageable and it is taking forever binning each name individually - and even more annoying it always goes back to page 1 after each ppainstaking deletion. Can I select more than one name at a time? There are many I still want to keep, but more that I want to delete. Jackie
