I would be very grateful if someone can help me find some family members on the 1891 census - I have searched for weeks and weeks and tried all variations that I can think of but they are determined to stay hidden from me! I am looking for: John Chambers ELSON b1846 (although birth year ranges from 1846-1852 on other census entries). Place of birth is Lewisham Kent, but also appears as Middlesex sometimes!! Georgiana ELSON b1854 Walton Somerset (sometimes listed as Georgina) They were living in Bristol in 1881 and 1901. They had two children: Lily Amelia ELSON b1880 Bristol Mable Eliza Frances ELSON b1882 Bristol I have found all relevant birth, death, marriage and other census entries for them but not a single thing for any of them in 1891!! Have they gone into hiding that year? Or would parts of Bristol be missing in 1891? Please please please can someone shed any light on where they could be hiding... please?! Thanks Cheryl

Oooh thank you for looking! It could possibly be Mable - but her middle names were Eliza Frances, and not S. But the middle names may have been confused as she was a boarder... I'm not sure! Cheryl

Jess - thanks for your tips :o) Unfortunately they were not considerate enough to be living at the same address in 1881 and 1901, and were not living at either address in 1891... hence the start of a new thread about areas of bristol! And Clara is not another daughter, she is recorded as a lodger. She was born about 5 years before John and Georgiana married and i have not got her as a daughter in any info so far... They really are very elusive! I had the same trouble (again in 1891 census) with another branch of the family, but they were living at the same address so i could just search through the images until i found them. This is a whole bigger task!
