The seller says: The family name in the bible is McArthur. The first entry was made by Mr McArthur (I can't read the italics that spell out the first initial) in 1841. Subsequent entries were made by: Margaret Harper McArthur in 1842; Archibald McArthur in 1862; Robert McArthur in 1863; William McArthur in 1865; John McArthur in 1867; Marion Anderson McArthur in 1870; John McArthur in 1872; McArthur in 1895; William McArthur in 1880 and the final entry was made in 1882 by James McArthur. There are 11 entries in total and the family appear to have originated from the Johnston area of Glasgow. A hand written note, undeneath the name of James McArthur, records that he died a prisoner of war in France in 1918. Item number: 150065119967 |
