Hello, I am trying to find details of my grandad(whom none of my family have ever seen), His name is Cecil J Taylor, he had a son with my nana in Sunderland, they never stayed together and he moved to Skeeby. He was found on the 1956 electrol in Skeeby living at Halfe Hill Cottage, Skeeby. I have posted messages to Richmond on line, Francis frith memories, yorkshire indexers, North east communigate, Uk Villages, just to name a few. No- one can tell me about Halfe Hill Cottage in Skeeby, whether it is still there, changed its name, or whether it was an old post office. As Cecil was working as a postmaster or subpostmaster. His wife or female relation who was living there in the electrol was Violet May Catherine Taylor, not sure if Cecil had any other children. His wife? used to keep in touch with my nana and told her he died abt 1970's Does anyone know anyone who lives in,or lived in Skeeby, that could find out. Or does anyone have any idea where I can find out about this Cottage or the residents. I even wrote a letter to Halfe Hill Cottage, with no reply. I am from Sunderland and I don't know the surrounding areas. Please help if you can, I think I am going to crack up!!!!! |
