Also found this marriage: Peter O'Reilly to Mary Jane Dorothy in the September Quarter of 1876, District of Cockermouth, Volume 10b, Page 789. Cockermouth is in Cumberland and Barrow in Furness is in Lancashire - Both England. Hope this helps, I am off out now. Regards Claire |

Hi Helena, There is a Peter O'Reilly birth registered in the March Quarter of 1885 in Barrow in Furness. Volume 8e, page 853. Could this be your man? Regards Claire |

Georgina No can't find them at all on 1901 census, how do I find how they got here from Ireland, although just spoke to my sister who thinks Peter O'Reilly lived in Barrow in Furnace?? or possibly Wiggan she's not at all sure but thought it was in England somewhere. Helena |

Helena his name sounds Irish to me maybe they moved to scotland from there have you found them on the 1901 scottish census? Georgina. |

Hi Helena Sorry I dont seem to able to find anything on IGI which gives exact matches to your dates nd names. I also have a few Irish ancestors, that I cant seem to find anythng on. Ireland is very difficult to research. Julie |

Hi Julie He was my grandfather (my mother's father) and a cousin has put together a family tree from speaking to relatives, old family documents etc. I started tracing my Dad's tree and now want to back up my cousin's tree with documented evidence but didn't expect to hit a blank so soon. I managed my Dad's side no bother until much later back. I have asked my cousin to let me have what he found but he hasn't been able to give me details of where my grandfather was born and he hasn't done anything about spouses other than names. So essentially I'm trying to fill in the gaps in his work. Helena |

I'm trying to find a birth for Peter O'Reilly born 25 Dec 1884, he married a Helena Talty in Scotland 18/07/1911 but I can't find a birth for either of them in Scotland, and they don't appear on any census. I'm not sure but think they may have come from Ireland although both have Scottish addresses on the marriage Extract. Their parents were Peter O'Reilly & Mary Jane Dorothy and Patrick Talty & Margaret Faran (it looks like). I'd be grateful for any help Helena |
