I'm currently researching my Nan's family, and have found a member here who has most of my Nan's siblings on their tree. Unfortunately this member has been deleted. I was hoping someone here may have had access to it at some point as it might hold some valuable information. The member number is 312613.

I haven't got a name. That's all that comes up when I click the message link that appears next to the relative I'm looking for.

I don't think it will tell you that a MEMBER has been deleted, will it? Doesn't it just mean that that individual has been removed from the tree? Or is it saying the whole tree has been deleted? Sorry, its late and my brain isnt helping me tonight! OC

Do you get the Error message when you try to contact the person? Is this when a person has been banned? I thought the tree was deleted if someone left the site? Heather

'Member 312613 may have been deleted recently - Please contact support' That appears when I try to contact this member about a person. I contacted support and they said there is no way to access this persons tree on the site, which is why I was hoping someone here may have contacted this member before they were deleted.

Sorry David our messages crossed.

Yeah, this member has left the site so I cannot access their tree, that's why I was hoping someone else had access to it before the member left.

Heather The only way a tree gets deleted from the site is if the member deletes it themself. If they left in, ahem, rather a hurry, they will not be able to access the site to delete their tree. This must, I think, be a banned member, because otherwise, even if a non-paying member, you can send them a message through genes. As this facility is not available in this case, I assume the person has been banned. They may return in eight weeks - try again later! OC

Seems the member originally joined 29/03/2003 so it was a while ago. Rose

david, if you do a name search on this site, entering the name of your grans siblings, presumably the name(s) will come up on the results list- at the left hand side there is then the members name to contact.-the tree owner- you only discover the are deleted when you go to contact them.

David Report 2 Dec 2006 11:06

Jess you're right. The name of the member comes up as Unknown, and when I click the contact button I get the error message.

David, Well, that's interesting! When I searched for Augustina and then clicked on the send message button, the system sent me back to my Home Page!! I noticed that there are several other people with an interest in Augustina, have you tried contacting them? They might have had contact with the 'deleted member' in the past and be able to put you in touch. Regs Annie

Hi Annie, I've been in contact with everyone else for the people I listed so that's a dead end unfortunately.
